The Republic of Belarus is in discussions with Russia to expand their cooperation program in the field of aircraft manufacturing, building upon the comprehensive interdepartmental program signed at INNOPROM.
"Our objective is to advance further in aircraft manufacturing by extending the existing program until 2035 and developing a more extensive initiative in this sector. This would involve, in addition to the 558th Aircraft Repair Plant currently implementing the 'Osvey' project, incorporating the 407th Plant, which is actively engaged in modernization efforts, and including the Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant. This approach will provide us with a clear understanding of our long-term prospects and operational strategies," stated the Ambassador of the Republic to Russia, Alexander Rogozhnik.
It is noted that, alongside the signed program, agreements have been reached on the joint development and establishment of serial production in Belarus of a twin-engine, 19-seat aircraft. The agreement was signed in 2024, and the project has been named ‘Osvey.’
From September 29 to October 1, 2025, Minsk will host the International Industrial Trade Fair INNOPROM in the Republic of Belarus. The Trade Fair will feature participation from industrial enterprises and official delegations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries. The event is organized by the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. Belarus has been a longstanding participant in INNOPROM events held in Ekaterinburg, Uzbekistan, and Qazaqstan, and in 2023, the country served as a partner nation.
