Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, speaking at the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth in Dushanbe, stated that the CIS market is a key one for Russia.
“Last year, Russia’s foreign trade turnover with CIS countries grew by 7% and exceeded 10 trillion rubles,” he noted.
The head of the Russian government emphasized that trade and economic cooperation within the CIS space is actively developing, with large-scale joint projects being implemented. The share of CIS countries in Russia’s trade turnover increased to 15.5% by the end of 2024.
He also expressed confidence that the CIS countries will be able to effectively respond to current challenges, including sanctions pressure and escalating tariff wars, by maximizing their competitive advantages.
In this context, Belarus plays a special role as an important center of cooperation in the region. For the first time, the INNOPROM exhibition will be held in Minsk, highlighting the significance of the Belarusian direction in developing industrial and technological partnerships among CIS countries.
